The front part of the video is the same as the article YKT has provided us with in post #1. I'll just skip it and go ahead to the interview.

Zhang Ziyi is an artiste that I like alot and also, she is China's best female actress. Since Garnier has chosen me, I feel very honoured and happy that I became their new spokesperson for Asia.''

Regarding the question about her qualities about her as an actress, she commented ''To be honest, I feel that those factors are not important, but rather choosing a good script as the main factor for every actor and actresses.
In the last six months to a year, there are many scripts that I have rejected (sounds abit arrogant but it is because of the way I phrase it.) although some of them are quite good. I personally have some preference and some idea of what I would choose, in terms of storyline and the roles that I would play in the film. I would insist on my high expectation for a good script. I feel that this is a way of being responsible for my acting career and also a way of faster improvement.''

This video is about comparing Yifei to Zhang Ziyi and sort of mentioning the similarities or rather how Yifei is using Zhang Ziyi's way to stardom. The TV host called Yifei a copycat and that her target was Zhang Ziyi. Garh, I feel like punching him already.


The narrator states that Yifei had followed Zhang Ziyi's footsteps by replacing as the spokesperson for Garnier products, signed contract with the same company and also expanding her career to Hollywood. (It seems to me that these people have nothing better to talk about.) The narrator also said that by doing so, Yifei has inadvertently invited people to do comparisons of her and Ziyi.

Regarding the comparison between Yifei and Ziyi, Yifei mentioned '' Of course I do not mind because Ziyi is so outstanding. I basically feel that both of us cannot be put together and compared.''

There is a short scene shown in the video clip where she is seen talking to a foreigner, the narrator complimented her good English and said that with her good English, it is no wonder that she is able to expand her career internationally.

I guess what we used to debate about Yifei playing stereotypical Asian Chinese roles would not be realised. I think all of us should be glad that she has clarified pertaining this issue.

No doubt, with so much similarities or I would rather call it coincidence, comparisons between both of them would surface. However, there is no need to mock Yifei in such a way by making her sound like a total clone of Zhang Ziyi
(calling Yifei a copycat). The media always try to grab people's attention by making a fuss out of nothing. I guess its their job anyways. They like to spread malicious rumours, taking bloopers and defaming other people so that there would be more readers. The worst part is that there are people stupid enough to believe in anything the media says without doing some research or clarifying on certain matters.

Well, lets look at the bright side of it. It certainly proves that Yifei's fame has definitely rose. If not, why would the media spend so much time trying to find her faults? Hopefully, Yifei will be able to cope with all these nonsence that inevitably comes with fame.
